Description
Pokemon Luminescent Version is a Renegade Platinum by Drayano-inspired difficulty mod for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl.
Although it is still in progress, its completed to a great extent!
We currently have:
- Wild Encounters by Renegade Platinum is finished.
- Complete replacements for trade evolution.
- The completion of Pokemon Base Stats and Typing has been achieved.
- Trainers for Renegade Platinum have (largely) been ported; if there are any errors, please let us know on Discord.
- Learnsets for levelling up have been ported.
- A port of TM Learnsets has been made.
- The script has undergone numerous modifications.
- The third gym leader right now is Fantina.
- The gym at Wake has rain now.
- A fresh Spear Pillar occasion!
- Ev is the daycare center's trainer.
- A new introduction!

However, we still need to port the trainers over before we can start adding our own spin to the situation. Although it's taking longer than expected, we're almost finished right now.
Level-up learnsets are our responsibility. Unfortunately, many of the moves we used in D/P/Pt are no longer available, therefore we must deal with replacing them with equivalent ones in order to maintain a consistent experience in as many bouts as we can. Later, more on this.
In terms of research, we are aware of how to upgrade learnsets, replace TM movements, and replace egg moves. Expect to see everything that RP has to offer.
Without giving too much away, here is what we intend to give you on our own:
There are many mods available that won't work with the ones my team uses. Where it is safe and practical, we will give you access to features that are similar to those in these mods. We have ideas for mods like Speedy, eliminated dof effect, no more fxaa, etc., if we obtain permission and credit, of course. We have already finished and analogue for the incredibly popular "No More Trade Evolutions" mod, in magnificent Renegade Platinum style.
Pokemon will follow better there. This will be my own scaling scheme for Pokemon, independent of the one found on GameBanana. I'm doing this for a variety of reasons, but Wailord and Roselia are are two of them..
We've learned a lot of interesting stuff that could possibly be accomplished soon. Watch this thread for more information.
Lastly, a few things to consider
Scripting is not accessible right now. You'll be aware when it does because we'll work hard to finish this as soon as we can. However, we are unable to transfer any Renegade Platinum story beats, rearrange gym leaders, or give you gift Pokemon at this time. Please let us know where you would want to see any Renegade Platinum gift Pokemon in the wild.
Although I have a few ideas that might work to get around this, it is now unable to use new Legendary Pokemon.
