This project is NanoDude's submission for Anthroyd’s "Make a Good Map 7" contest, a 30-day game jam where participants create a concise game set within a designated area comprised of multiple sub-maps. Contestants are given specific themes and gimmicks to incorporate into their maps, like islands, rural routes, or castles. The maps must include opening and closing credits to acknowledge the resources used.

NanoDude's entry, "Pokemon: Shiron Castle," adheres to the theme "tourist trap" and the gimmick "Something is off. You want to investigate?" It serves as a prequel to NanoDude's main hack and draws inspiration from it. The chosen theme and gimmick align with the mysterious and enigmatic elements prevalent in NanoDude's writing.

Story

In this game, players assume the role of a delivery boy tasked with delivering an item to Javier in Daiman Village, a historic rural settlement in the Tauron region. However, Javier has gone to a nearby castle due to an unsettling feeling, prompting his concerned mother to ask for your help in finding him.

Your journey leads you to Shiron Castle, where an unexpected event unfolds: the lively "ancient battles fair." This event commemorates the transformation of the Shiron region into modern-day Tauron after the downfall of King Tasqui-Shiron's tyranny and his monarchy's dissolution. Inside the castle, you'll encounter various challengers, including channelers trying to communicate with the castle's spirits and knight cosplayers specializing in steel-type Pokemon battles.

As you progress, you'll uncover the rich history of Shiron Castle, the broader story of Tauron, and the complex web of past alliances and conflicts within and beyond the region. The road ahead promises many revelations. Can you find Javier amidst the castle's expanse? To experience the full story, it's best to dive into this narrative-driven adventure and enjoy the unfolding tale.
