A Pokémon Black 2 Rom Hack called Pokemon Steelheart tells Orre's story 10 years after the events of Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. The project seeks to play with the idea of how the area has changed throughout this time period in order to provide a fresh experience suitable of a sequel to the Orre games. We intend to pace ourselves to make the most of the new tools and our own ideas for the hack because this is one of the first new-region hacks for Generation 5.
The game will be released in chapters, there will be regular updates, and we'll keep the production process open to anyone who wants to view it. Opening the doors to display how we work can be helpful to individuals who are initially interested in entering the field of rom hacking or game development, even though this does eliminate the mystery and faithfulness that many hack projects have with releases.
We want this game to offer a sufficient challenge for players in terms of level and tone, while still maintaining a relaxed atmosphere (somewhere in between a Gen 5 game and a Drayano Hack).
Story
The Pokémon League focused on the Orre Region a few years after Cipher's demise. In order to promote Orre as a tourist destination and a hotspot for battles, the League collaborated with the local Starline Inc. and turned the ragtag collection of colosseums into an official gym challenge. If one advances through the Orre League rankings, they may encounter the Champion at the top of Mount Battle.
You take on the role of a vivacious young adult riding in from a distance with the intention of joining the Orre League and exploring the area. You'll run into a few new people along the way, and you'll end up becoming both of your anchors at the same time.
Act 1: Kicking Up Sand Prologue: South Orre
