Similar to Drayano's other hacks, such as Sacred Gold & Storm Silver and Blaze Black & Volt White, Pokémon Renegade Platinum is an improvement hack for the Pokémon Platinum Version. In a nutshell, this hack largely maintains the same narrative flow as the original Pokémon Platinum while introducing a sizable number of gameplay tweaks, such as, but not limited to, giving players access to all 493 Pokémon. A number of quality-of-life improvements were made in the game, including redesigned Trainers, tougher boss battles, numerous (optional) changes to weaker Pokémon to make them easier to use, the removal of trade-only evolutions, and others. The paragraphs that follow provide more information about the exact changes that have been made.
Features
All Pokémon from Platinum, including Bulbasaur and Arceus, may be acquired within the game. Each location's wild Pokémon have undergone significant changes, and now contain species that are not often found in the Sinnoh area. You can acquire or capture the majority of Pokémon, allowing you to create almost any team you choose, before you first face the Elite Four. To make acquiring these Pokémon feel as unique as they generally would, new game events have been added.
The publications for wild Pokémon and special events contain information on each Pokémon's locations. The Pokédex also displays the precise locations of wild Pokémon. Mikelan98 deserves a lot of credit for including that.
~The National Dex's Pokémon have been added to every Trainer's Pokémon roster in the game. Trainer levels have also been modified to fit the new level curve, which is steeper than the old one since more evolved Pokémon are being used and because larger Pokémon rosters offer more EXP. By the Elite Four, Trainers can anticipate their Pokémon to reach the 70s, up from the 50s in the first Platinum. The Elite Four and other boss Trainers are the only ones that typically use AI; all other Trainers do as well.
The Trainer Pokemon document contains specifics about what each Trainer possesses. Please be aware that the Battle Frontier has not changed; this feature only applies to the game's standard Trainer bouts.
Important contests have been made more difficult than typical Trainers, such as the opponent, Gym Leaders, Galactic Admins, or the Elite Four. Instead of the 3-5 from before, Gym Leaders and members of the Elite Four now always use 6 Pokémon, and they all use high IV Pokémon with modified movesets, holding items, and occasionally ideal natures in these battles. It is hard to foresee which of the opposing teams' primary Pokémon will be used in the first round of the Elite Four and Champion due to the extra feature of random selection from among four teams.
They are undoubtedly more difficult than the original version, but they shouldn't be completely unbeatable. If you don't carry some tactics, some of your Pokémon may probably pass out in combat.
The Fairy-type from Gen 6 games and later is now a part of Renegade Platinum, taking the place of the previous??? type. You can now use Pokémon like Clefairy and Ralts with their Fairy-type as in later games because all Pokémon's typing, base stats, and wild-held items have been changed to match what they were in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. While many Pokémon get their Hidden Ability in Gen 5 and later as a supplemental standard ability in this hack, Pelipper and Torkoal get new Drizzle and Drought abilities in Gen 7.
