Download Pokemon Sword (Switch)
Pokemon Sword (Pocket Monster Sword ー Pokemon Sword) and Pokemon Shield (Poque et Morta ― Pocket Monster Shield) are major paired versions of the 8th generation. The game will be released for retail and download on Nintendo Switch worldwide on November 15th, 2019. All copies of the game are available in 9 languages: Japanese, English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese. At
E3 2017, Tsunekazu Ishihara announced that the next major series of games would be available on the Nintendo Switch, but were not ready to publish further information at the time. The Pokémon Company held a press conference on May 30, 2018 and announced that their new core game will have more traditional gameplay than Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! And let's go, Evie!.
The game was officially announced on Pokemon Day on February 27, 2019 at 11 PM JST, and released worldwide via Nintendo Direct hosted by Tsunekazu Ishihara, Junichi Masuda, and Shigeru Omori. An official trailer has been shown providing information about the region and which starting Pokemon players can choose from.
